Saw 3D (7) is the most violent and disturbing Saw film to date. As a huge saw fan I’m not afraid to point out some of its major flaws. The biggest flaw being that the sequels, going for bigger and bloodier death scenes, have to ignore or “bend” most of its rules. For example the main rule “testing your will to live”. The traps lately often have innocent people with virtually no chance, their life hanging in the balance of the guilty test subjects will to live rather then their own. Such has the ferris wheel in Saw 6. The do attempt to explain a lot of this away, such as having others involved in setting the traps and so on..but I think you get my point. Each sequel seems develop the story around the “cool” traps, more then the characters. But the traps are pretty cool.

That being said, the reviews are a little mixed, but the big Saw fans seem to be satisfied. They did conclude the movie tieing up loose ends, but this doesn’t necessarily mean there won’t be another. My honest opinion..lets savor this series for what it is and enjoy it… it’ll be 2011, lets start a new Halloween movie tradition next year with something fresh. Read more about SAW 3D here
