[TGS 2018] New ‘Death Stranding’ Trailer Reveals Man in the Golden Mask

by We Love Horror
Hideo Kojima had downplayed the chance of there being much new to show of Death Stranding at the Tokyo Games Show, but we did get something in a short trailer with a new character revealed. The trailer sees Norman Reedus’ Sam happen upon a man with a Southern drawl, dressed in similar garb (including that baby in a jar strapped to his front) and a striking gold skull mask. That man, dubbed ‘Man in the Golden Mask’,  doesn’t seem like a big fan of Sam considering the ‘present’ he leaves him. Taking off his faceplate and driving it into the [...]

Dedicated Servers for ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ Hitting Xbox One Today

by We Love Horror
Earlier this week, dedicated servers were finally rolled out for Friday the 13th: The Game, but only on PlayStation 4. What about Xbox One, you ask? Well, that’s coming today! The team updates this morning, “We plan on publishing the Xbox One update today, which includes Dedicated Servers, at 11am Eastern. Please keep in mind that it could take a while before the update reaches your console.” What does this mean? “Players do not host the match, so if Jason kills the “host” and they quit, the game continues,” the team notes. “If Jason quits then the counselors remaining survive.” [...]

[TGS 2018] Swords, Fire and Blood Aplenty in Latest ‘Sekiro’ Trailer

by We Love Horror
Tokyo Game Show 2018 hasn’t even started yet, and we’re already getting some goodies. Case in point: From Software have unleashed a new trailer for their ancient Japan action-adventure RPG, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 22, 2019, Sekiro definitely looks like it captures the atmosphere of Dark Souls, albeit you’re in 16th century Japan fighting demons. But hey, it looks and sounds cool. Unfortunately, I don’t know Japanese, so I can’t say what exactly the subtitles or narrators are saying. Regardless, the amount of plasma and swordplay in the trailer, [...]

‘Death Stranding’ Heads to TGS 2018 (With Guests)

by We Love Horror
When we last heard from Hideo Kojima and the epic saga that is Death Stranding, he was teasing a potential appearance of the game at this year’s Game Awards. Well, it looks like we’ll be getting something even before that, as Kojima Productions have announced that they’ll be having a stage event at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The Death Stranding panel will be held on September 23rd, which is the last day of the event. There’s no specific mention of gameplay (judging from Google Translate), but Kojima will be there, alongside “gorgeous voice actors” (who will be announced at [...]

“Fallout: Miami” Team Talks Story And More in Latest Update

by We Love Horror
The team behind the Fallout 4 mode “Fallout: Miami” recently posted their August progress recap (their first monthly update video), along with a lengthy blog post and some cool concept art and model progress. The recap actually deals with the juicy backstory for the mod, which is still being worked on. The story for the “Fallout: Miami” follows the Sole Survivor (aka you) in the year 2287, ten years after the Battle of Raven Rock, which took place in Fallout 3. Two years before the fall of Raven Rock, The Enclave sent a team to Miami Beach to establish a [...]

It’s been almost two years since the launch of PlayStation VR and in that time we’ve seen plenty of promising horror games, both big and small. Marrying the genre with Sony’s fledgling piece of tech seems like a no-brainer, really. That enhanced immersion instantly amps up the atmosphere while making jump scares feel like an actual, physical threat. Once strapped in, there’s no escape. Unless you just close your eyes, of course. So, without further ado, Bloody Disgusting presents a list of [...]

How Multiplayer Horror ‘Deceit’ Made Me Turn on My Friends in Minutes

by We Love Horror
Paranoia is at the heart of any great horror experience. It’s a feeling that sticks with you and guides your actions regardless of their rationality. This was what caused me to gun down two of my friends over nothing more than fear and lies – virtually, of course. Enter Deceit, an independent horror game developed and published by Mostly Positive. Available on the PC, Deceit tasks you and five other players with surviving a night in a handful of different creepy locations. Two of the six players are monsters and they have to brutally murder the other four survivors before [...]

Discover The Truth Behind an Abandoned Cult Compound in ‘Sagebrush’

by We Love Horror
Ever wondered what it’d be like to explore an abandoned cult compound? Well, in Redact Games’ upcoming first person adventure game, Sagebrush you can. The question is, has the compound really been abandoned? Releasing on September 18th on Steam for $6.99USD, you can also find the game on Itch.io. Using a throwback low-poly aesthetic reminiscent of 90s survival horror games like Alone in the Dark (and of course, Resident Evil), Sagebrush puts you in the seemingly deserted Perfect Heaven compound where the Perfect Heaven cult mass suicide occurred. You’ll explore the compound the members left behind, narrated by a young [...]
