Last Updated (2/22/16) Original Zombieland co-writer Rhett Reese had a recent interview where he revealed what's going on with the sequel, saying: "It’s actually still in development at Sony, they’ve had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can and I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right. I think all the actors and [original ‘Zombieland' director] Ruben [Fleischer], all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right."

The sequel to world war z which was never really in question, is now officially underway in pre production. Brad Pitt is set reprise his role as Gerry Lane in the upcoming sequel. Director Marc Forster will not return for the sequel. Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage, The Impossible) was originally going to direct, but left the project due to the strict schedule by the studio, which would have conflicted with another project he was working on, which leaves the film currently searching a new director.
