by We Love Horror
Have $1000 lying around? Capcom of Japan have something for you. We know about the North American Collector’s Edition of the Resident Evil 2 remake, but Japan has something really special. The Japanese Premium Version of the game will come with a replica of the in-game Lexington typewriter, aka the same typewriter you use to save your game. It’s not for show, either. The keyboard will have a bluetooth connection, and is being produced via a collaboration with Qwerkytoys (based on their Qwerkywriter S model). And for those who don’t quite want to spring a grand for the Premium Edition, [...]

Network to Release ‘Miss Leslie’s Dolls’ and ‘Who Killed Teddy Bear’ on Blu-ray!

by We Love Horror
UK’s Network is gearing up to release  Miss Leslie’s Dolls and Who Killed Teddy Bear on Blu-ray, providing both films with their debut in the format. First up is Miss Leslie’s Dolls coming on September 3rd. This lost grindhouse classic is a demented tale of possession and transvestitism from director Joseph G. Prieto. Thought to have been lost to time, the original film elements were discovered and remastered specifically for this new release. The restoration puts the film in it original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and was careful to remove film dirt and damage while correcting instability, warping and density [...]

[Interview] Director Trio RKSS Talk Balancing Nostalgia with Grim Thrills in ‘Summer of 84’

by We Love Horror
Three years after debuting cult favorite Turbo Kid at Sundance Film Festival, filmmaking trio RKSS (Francois Simard, Anouk Whissell, and Yoann-Karl Whissell) returned with their latest feature, Summer of 84, which our own Fred Topel said it “hits the nostalgic sweet spot.” A coming of age thriller that follows a group of teenage friends that spend their summer talking about sex, playing their favorite spy game, and getting into trouble. When group leader Davey (Graham Verchere) suspects his neighbor might be the one responsible for a string of missing children in the area, their spying leads to dangerous consequences. Unlike [...]

[Review] ‘The Meg’ Is Well Aware What Kind of Movie It Is and Delivers Monster Sized Fun

by We Love Horror
Discerning genre geeks face a weird dilemma when it comes to shark movies: basically, Jaws is one of the best movies ever made (obviously) and the basic concept of “shark vs. people” is of course very appealing to those who like horror, action, or quality b-movies in general. So why are decent shark movies so damn rare? It’s not exactly brain surgery here, but despite the massive success of Jaws, there have only been a small handful of half-decent flicks on the Shark Attack shelf. You’ll find plenty of people who like Jaws 2, Deep Blue Sea, Shark Night, and [...]

Are We Crazy or Did “Castle Rock” Just Set Up a Mind Blowing Reveal?

by We Love Horror
“You have no idea what’s happening here, do you?” Proving that he can be just as creepy playing a human character as he can be playing a nightmarish dancing clown, Bill Skarsgård has been commanding the screen as a silent and unsettling character known only as “The Kid” on Hulu’s “Castle Rock,“ a young man who had been secretly kept prisoner deep beneath the bowels of Shawshank by Dale Lacy, the former warden of the prison; Lacy, who killed himself before “The Kid” was found, believed he was doing the town a service, capturing the Devil responsible for the darkness that [...]

Boss Logic’s Latest Art Imagines Ruby Rose as The CW’s Batwoman

by We Love Horror
As announced earlier today, The Meg star Ruby Rose has been cast as DC’s Batwoman for The CW, her iteration of the character debuting in December as part of the network’s annual DC Arrowverse crossover event. *Potentially,* Rose’s Batwoman will then be getting her own standalone television series, though that’s not yet set in stone. In the meantime, our pal Boss Logic just put his skills to the test, whipping up a piece of art that imagines how Rose could look as Batwoman. Of course, we really have no idea what the character is going to look like at this point, but [...]

[It Came From the ‘80s] ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master’ Delivered Soul Pizza and Cockroaches

by We Love Horror
The fourth entry of one of horror’s most popular franchises, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master also happens to be the first one to give Robert Englund star billing. It was about time; at this point in the series, Freddy Krueger had achieved mega icon status, drawing thousands of fans to Englund’s trailer during production in the hopes of getting a glimpse of him in full makeup. Released in theaters 30 years ago, on August 19, 1988, The Dream Master became the highest grossing film of the series until Freddy vs. Jason came along in 2003. The [...]
