[Images] Check Out Kevin Bacon as Valentine McKee 28 Years Later from “Tremors” Pilot!

by We Love Horror
We reported sad news as we headed into this past weekend, as we learned that Syfy has decided not to go forward with their Kevin Bacon-starring “Tremors” TV series. The planned series had filmed its pilot episode last year, with Vincenzo Natali (Splice) directing a script penned by Andrew Miller (“Imaginary Bitches”). Bacon himself broke the news over on Instagram: “Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind [...]

The Chinese Dream Tin

Rating: 5.7. From 32 votes. Please wait... Add this post to your list of favorites!Reading Time: 12 minutes INCIDENT ONE The Chinese Dream Tin is a thing of evil nature, a relic easily overlooked by the foolish, and feared deeply by the wise. Sometimes, it decorates an office, and others, it marks a grave. But never, even once, has the Tin opened to reveal the same thing twice. Some find their greatest dreams, and others their worst nightmares, and yet for others, it yields their deepest, darkest fantasies. There is a paradox inside my heart; a pair of wishes [...]

Chilling “The Terror” Is a Masterclass In Atmospheric Horror

by We Love Horror
Can we change the title to “Master and Commander: The Far Side of John Carpenter’s The Thing“? Disclaimer: I have seen the entirety of The Terror, but there are only minor historical spoilers. The worst part of living in Norway is slowly seeing the numbers on the thermometer go down, putting all your t-shirts and shorts in the closet, and having to start wearing more and more layers to go outside. There’s also the creeping darkness that starts to arrive earlier and earlier each day, with your energy and mood slowly decreasing until you are surrounded by nothing but darkness [...]

Static

Rating: 8.8. From 35 votes. Please wait... Add this post to your list of favorites!Reading Time: 18 minutes I despise the sound of static. The vast emptiness of its white noise is heavily unsettling to me. Ever since I was a child, hearing it is synonymous with hearing the toll of death’s bell. This is because every time I’ve heard it, something horrific has happened in its stead. When I was seven or eight, my boombox suddenly stopped playing music and began emitting that scratchy hiss. I had to hold my hands over my ears before shutting it off. [...]

This is Far from Perfection: Kevin Bacon’s “Tremors” TV Series Has Been Axed

by We Love Horror
For the first time since the original film, Kevin Bacon was set to return to Perfection to fight Graboids in Syfy’s “Tremors,” which filmed its pilot episode in Albuquerque, New Mexico last year. Sadly, the network has decided to not order the pilot to series. Bacon himself broke the sad news over on Instagram tonight: “Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one [...]

Day 3381

by We Love Horror
Rating: 7.8. From 30 votes. Please wait... Add this post to your list of favorites!Reading Time: 8 minutes Day 3381, dusk. The atmosphere was nice on this day. Better than the days before it in many ways. The skies had been weeping relentlessly for quite some time, making the search for food difficult. Floods swept across the land; large bodies of water overflowed, creating new meandering streams throughout the grassy valleys. Storms tore through the area; damaged foliage and limbs ripped from the trees above laid in every direction. Monuments that previously towered above me, places I enjoyed loitering [...]

Pretty Lies

Rating: 5.8. From 21 votes. Please wait... Add this post to your list of favorites!Reading Time: 6 minutes Getting ourselves grown up into sophisticated individuals, we’ve forgotten what glorious mess we were back in the old days, when the world seemed so tall from our heads, when teasing and fooling around with those tall figures was so much fun, when we all were pretty liars, lying about every second thing we’ve been asked by the tall people. That perplexed look on their faces was the best part, because they had a hard time guessing whether we’re actually telling truth [...]
